reality check please! April 1, 2009 Reviewer:  YoGabbaGabba "~Rebecca" (Los Angeles, CA)  See all my reviews >

I really did my homework before purchasing this juicer.I have to admit,I was apprehensive about my purchase due to the negative reviews but I have not had any serious problems with it. I don't have a high budget and really, I didn't know if I would enjoy juicing or not. $100 is a great price and the clean up is not as harsh as some have made it out to seem but I may be biased because I wash all my dishes by hand(no dishwasher). I read the instructions and took all the information to heart(remove apple stems and rinds from thicker, harder fruits,etc...)and basically don't behave like a gorilla shoving a bunch in at once.I juice 1-4 times a day now and I LOVE IT! My 9 year old loves watermelon juice, my 1 year old, orange,& carrot for myself, spouse & 8 month old. My chief complaint would be;SO MUCH juice comes out at once there is some splashing! I put a kitchen or paper towel on the counter now before I begin. The spout is low so we use tumblers. Seems to me the negative reviewers believe everything they see on t.v. and expect magic for pennies on the dollar...I would absolutely buy this again. AND I have lost 10 lbs in 2 months with the addition of juicing! I have more energy and I KNOW my kids are getting valuable,FRESH nutrition at a fraction of the cost of buying "retail juice".
P.S. we are using the pulp for compost in our garden :)

Great Product if you know what you are getting into November 20, 2006 Reviewer:  Robin Murphy "robinlynn98" Real Name (Ky)  See all my reviews >

This does make great juice. It's super easy to use. It's not too bad to clean as long as you wash everything as soon as you finish using it. But nothing can be made ahead of time. You have to make the juice up when you want to use it. The juice looks a little funny, my kids wouldn't touch it. The pulp looks nasty and tends to get a bit messy. It doesn't all go into the collector. Most of it stays up inside the juicer. For me it just wasn't worth it.

Easy to use, yummy juice but a pain to clean June 28, 2007 Reviewer:  Happy D.I.N.K. (Chicago, IL)  See all my reviews >

I bought this juicer about 2 months ago. I use it about once a day. Overall, I'm pleased but I do feel a few things in the commercial are misleading.

Clean-up is a pain. You need to take the entire juicer apart. I usually just rinse it under hot water and air dry, then run it through the dishwasher once a week. To save some time I usually line the pulp catch with a plastic grocery bag. Also, in the commercial Jack raves about how little pulp end up in the catch container. He's right....because 90% of it never makes it into the catch! It just sticks to the top of the inside.

The manual is misleading. In one part is advises you NOT to juice soft fruits and veggies like avocados and bananas, but a few pages later there is a recipe that calls for avocado -- go figure!

The juice is yummy, and it does seems to produce quite a bit. The only complaint is that I find I'm actually spending more money at the grocery story b/c it takes so many fruits and veggies to make one glass.

great juicer pain to clean up July 16, 2007 Reviewer:  Jade "just-jade" (boston ma)  See all my reviews >

it gives you so much more juice than many other juicers out there. however the clean up is a pain since everything has to come apart to clean and the metal filter is difficult to get completely clean. i had the waste empty but the pulp was coming out the liquid spout. the filter screen was full half way juicing 10 oranges. we juice alot. so after a few glasses, you have to clean up the filter and waste before continuing or you get crap in your juice.

NOT worth it!! October 16, 2006 Reviewer:  Unhappy Buyer See all my reviews >

I live in Central America and I had my mother go to Target to buy this specific juicer and bring it. It had no instruction booklet and the Target people of course couldn't be held responsible, nor could they fax or email me one. Besides, the pulp doesn't come out as dry as shown in the informercial and guess what?? The second time I used it... it got jammed with a carrot!!

Not Quite Perfect August 6, 2006 Reviewer:  Happycustomer See all my reviews >

Yes there is a large opening to put in whole fruit and there is a very quiet motor. However, there is something wrong with the blade. You have to push quite hard to put harder vegetables like beets through. There is absolutely less pulp when finished juicing and the pulp is very dry indicating that a lot of juice is extracted. However, I don't think you should have to bear down so hard to get the vegetables through. A few more improvements would make this item perfect. It seems easier to clean than other juicers I have owned.

Great product! August 1, 2006 Reviewer:  1113 "Sandy E" (Emporia, KS)  See all my reviews >

We've been using our Juicer for about 4 months and love it! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is cumbersome to clean, but if you clean right after you use it, which I prefer to do anyways, it rinses right up. I think it's easier to clean than our blender because it comes apart entirely. I save the pulp for muffins, etc. The juices are awesome and there are great recipes in the booklet. There is never any pulp/seeds/etc in the juice. I highly recommend this purchase if you have a desire to use a juicer. We try to use ours everyday!

Doesn't Hold Up- Warrenty Useless June 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Juice Feaster See all my reviews >

I love Jack LaLanne, and this juicer makes great juice, but it broke down a mere 3 weeks after buying. There's a plastic peg that the strainer sits on and the blade screws into. It cracked after three weeks (despite being careful not to overscrew the blade) and the juicer died. I was told this part is not under warranty and the company won't replace it. I juice everyday, and within a week of buying this juicer, the blades were already showing wear. Look for reviews elsewhere online. You'll be amazed at how many people have had problems with this juicer holding up. The warranty is useless, and the company refuses to make good on bad design. Save your money and buy a Breville, Omega, Champion, or Vitamix. NOT for the serious juicer!

Amazingly simple and delicious January 18, 2007 Reviewer:  Dot See all my reviews >

My husband bought this for me for Christmas and our family has been enjoying it ever since. The Power Juicer is so easy to use and maintain compared to juicers I've used in the past. I suppose if you don't like lifting a finger to do anything, this isn't the item for you; however, juicing probably wouldn't appeal to you either. You have to clean it and do some preparation to some of the fruits and vegetables, but it is all minimal when compared to how much juice you get out of it.

as good as any other juicer April 30, 2006 Reviewer:  dog lover (NJ)  See all my reviews >

The first time I put a whole apple in, it had a really hard time with it being stuck, and I chose small apples. Now I cut the apples in half. I bought a whole bunch of fruits and veggies, but I didnt like the recipes I tried so far. Carrot/apple/ginger-yuck! I think Im going to stuck with the basics, orange juice, apple juice, grape juice, and pineapple. Its nice to know you aren't buying juice that is bottled but I think if I had to do it again I would have bought a cheaper juicer since I have to cut the apples in half anyway. Clean up is no worse than any other juicer, it's always a bit of a pain, but if you clean it right away and its not stuck on, it's much much easier.
